bergen counseling collective - individual therapy and couples counseling in chicago

About Bergen Counseling Collective

Bergen Counseling Collective is a therapy practice in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood providing individual therapy, couples counseling, and specialized treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship challenges. Founded by Jeremiah Bergen, MS, LCPC, the practice has been serving the Chicago community since 2010. We are in-network with BCBS PPO, Aetna PPO, UBH PPO, and Cigna PPO and offer both in-person sessions at our Ravenswood office and telehealth throughout Illinois.

Our Approach to Therapy

We believe therapy works best when it is both evidence-based and genuinely personal. Our clinicians use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) depending on what each client needs. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all approach. Treatment is tailored to your goals, your history, and the way you process the world.

Our practice takes a holistic and systemic view of mental health. Individual well-being is shaped by relationships, family history, work, culture, and community. Whether you are working through anxiety that has built up over years, navigating a difficult transition in your marriage, or processing trauma that still affects your daily life, we help you understand the patterns underneath the symptoms and build a path toward real change.

We also recognize that asking for help is not easy. Many of our clients are high-functioning, successful people who have pushed through challenges on their own for a long time. Therapy at Bergen Counseling Collective is not about being broken. It is about gaining clarity, building skills, and creating space for the kind of growth that is hard to do alone.
