Online Therapy Across Illinois

Licensed therapists. Secure video sessions. The same quality care you would get in our Ravenswood office, from wherever you are in Illinois.

You have been meaning to start therapy. But the logistics keep getting in the way. The commute. The schedule. The parking. Telehealth removes all of that.

You log on from your home, your office, your car during lunch. The session itself is the same: a real conversation with a licensed therapist who knows your story and is trained to help you move through it.

Bergen Counseling Collective offers online therapy to anyone located in Illinois. Whether you are in Chicago, the suburbs, or downstate, you get the same experienced clinicians, the same evidence-based approaches, and the same commitment to showing up for you.

Who Online Therapy Works For

  • Professionals with demanding schedules who need evening or weekend flexibility
  • Parents managing childcare who cannot easily leave the house
  • People outside Chicago who want access to specialized therapists
  • Anyone who prefers the comfort and privacy of therapy from home
  • Clients who want to alternate between in-person and virtual sessions
  • College students attending school in Illinois away from home

If you can find a quiet, private space and a reliable internet connection, telehealth can work for you.

Serving Clients Across Illinois

Our therapists are licensed in Illinois, so we can work with anyone physically located in the state at the time of their session. We currently see online therapy clients from Chicago and suburbs including Evanston, Oak Park, Naperville, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Skokie, and communities throughout Cook County, DuPage County, Lake County, Will County, and Kane County.

We also work with clients in Champaign, Springfield, Peoria, Rockford, and other cities across the state. If you are in Illinois and looking for a therapist, location is no longer a barrier.

Prefer face-to-face sessions? We offer in-person therapy at our office in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. Many clients alternate between formats based on their schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy produces equivalent outcomes to in-person therapy for most conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship issues. Many clients report feeling more comfortable opening up from their own space, and the convenience often leads to better attendance and consistency.
What do I need for a telehealth session?
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private space where you will not be interrupted. No special software is needed. You receive a secure link before your session that opens in your browser.
Is online therapy covered by my insurance?
Yes. We accept BCBS PPO, Aetna PPO, Cigna PPO, and UBH PPO for telehealth sessions. Coverage, copays, and deductibles are the same as in-person visits. We verify your benefits before your first session and handle all claims submission.
Can I do couples counseling online?
Absolutely. Many of our couples prefer telehealth because it is easier to coordinate schedules. Both partners can join from the same location or from separate locations. Our Gottman-certified therapist regularly conducts couples sessions via telehealth with strong results.
Do I have to live in Chicago to see you online?
No. You can be anywhere in Illinois at the time of your session. We work with clients throughout the state, from the city to the suburbs to downstate communities.
What if I want to switch between in-person and telehealth?
Many of our clients alternate based on their schedule. You can attend in-person at our Ravenswood office one week and telehealth the next. There is no commitment to one format.
How do I get started?
Call or text (312) 870-0500 or book online. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to match you with the right therapist. Most new clients are scheduled within one week.
Is telehealth therapy private and secure?
Yes. We use SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant video platform with end-to-end encryption. Your session is not recorded. The same confidentiality protections that apply to in-person therapy apply to telehealth.
Ready to Get Started?

You do not need to have it figured out before your first session. Call, text, or book online. We will take it from there.
